CPRA CPRA REQUEST — City Clerk records concerning authority to extend CPRA determination deadlines Requester: Christopher T. Foley. This request is limited to ONE subject: the written authority under which the City Clerk extends determination deadlines under the California Public Records Act. Gov. Code section 7922.535(b) permits the determination deadline to be extended by written notice "by the head of the agency or their designee." I request: 1. The written designation, delegation, administrative order, resolution, policy, or other instrument by which the City Clerk, or any Office of the City Clerk staff member, is authorized to extend Public Records Act determination deadlines on behalf of the City of Sacramento, together with the date it took effect and any amendments. 2. All written policies, procedures, desk manuals, training materials, or internal guidance concerning when a determination deadline may be extended, how many extensions may be issued on a single request, and who must approve an extension. 3. All written guidance, templates, or form text used by the Office of the City Clerk for extension notices issued in 2026, including any template containing the phrase "the volume of materials required to be searched, collected, and examined for responsiveness." 4. All records reflecting who authorized each of the four extension notices issued on Request 26-2490 on July 2, July 16, July 30, and August 13, 2026. If the City locates no responsive record for any item, please state that expressly and produce the records of the search: which departments, custodians, and systems were searched, the search terms used, the date of the search, who performed it, and who made the no-records determination under Gov. Code section 7922.540(b). No prior request has sought the City Clerk's delegated authority or extension policies. Format: native electronic format where available.
